Sam Clunie
Founding Director
Sam and his Wife Chantal established Strong Builds with the key focus of creating a team of high performers who encourage and elevate each other and can bring a World Class experience to all of their building clients.
Sam gained his building qualification in Whakatane New Zealand, then followed Chantal to the mighty Auckland as she pursued a career in Chiropractic, and together they established Strong Builds.

He employed Jason, one of his best friends from School, who quickly became his most trusted carpenter and elevated himself into all aspects of the business. Sam also pinched his sister Sarah in mid-2020 as she finished her management course.
Together, Jason and Sarah have now grown to oversee all parts of the high performing Strong Builds team & company.

Sam was forced to step back back in 2022 as he was unexpectedly faced with brain cancer. He left Strong Builds in the hands of his well-equipped & trusted team as he focused on battling this unexpected "curve ball" with his wife, Chantal, and family at his side. After a long and hard battle Sam unfortunately passed in April, 2023. His drive, passion, and infectious enthusiasm is sorely missed but his presence is forever felt in Strong Builds. His foundation of honesty, excellence, and innovation is what Strong Builds continues to build on as we strive everyday to exceed all the goals and dreams Sam had for his team and the company.

Meet Sarah, our office manager. Sarah places utmost importance on excellent communication and ensuring customer satisfaction, making sure that every step of the way, clients are well-informed and feel valued. Originally working beside her brother, Sam the Founding Director, Sarah has been part of Strong Builds from it's beginning roots and has helped it grow to the established professional company it is today.

Steve, one of our rising stars, is a pivotal on-site carpenter at Strong Builds guaranteeing top-notch craftsmanship. He has evolved from a novice apprentice to a highly respected and integral team member within Strong Builds, showcasing significant growth and dedication to excelling in the building industry.

Duncan has seamlessly integrated into the Strong Builds team, offering both experience and expertise as he progresses towards his full qualification. Duncan's track record is marked by consistently delivering work of the highest quality, driven by his pursuit of excellence in his role as a builder.
Wills McCarthy
Site Manager
Wills is a highly motivated and effective member of the Strong Builds team. His infectious enthusiasm, strong communication skills, hard-working attitude, and ability to deliver high-quality results makes him a such a rare and valuable asset that he's earned the nickname "unicorn". Find him on site ensuring your job runs smoothly start to finish.

Meet Jordan, our exceptional apprentice. Jordan is a prime example of someone eager to learn the key fundamentals of becoming a top-tier builder.
